This doll is a sweet little girl created by NIADA doll artist Herta Horst Forster. Forster was from Germany. An interesting side note was found on the internet about Forster's early connection with miniature dolls. Her family’s home was destroyed in 1944 when it was bombed by the allies in World War II. Later she recreated it in miniature including the furniture as she remembered it. Here is a link to a blog post about it along with a couple of photos of the dollhouse. http://seducedbyhistory.blogspot.com/201 0/04/miniatures-are-not-just-for-playing .html
This girl doll has head made of wood composition and body of felt. Her little dolly is wooden. The upholstered chair is also wooden and made by the artist. Artist initials are on the bottom of the chair. Fully clothed doll and dolly. Adorable handpainted faces on both. As seated, height is 4.5” tall, but she is separate from the chair and looks like her body armature could be bent so she could stand if desired. Please email with any questions.
